Malang, May 26, 2026 — The Master of Biomedical Sciences (S2) Program at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a socialization and audience activity at the Faculty of Medicine, State University of Malang (UM). This activity was part of an effort to expand its academic network and introduce the Master of Biomedical Sciences Program to the UM Faculty of Medicine academic community.
The event, held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, was attended by leaders, lecturers, and representatives from both institutions. The socialization began with a profile presentation of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and an introduction to the Master's Program in Biomedical Sciences, which continues to develop as a leading program in health education and biomedical research.
On the occasion, the Master of Biomedical Sciences Study Program team from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, explained the program's various advantages, ranging from a curriculum focused on strengthening research competencies, adequate laboratory facilities, and opportunities for research collaboration that can support academic and professional career development in the health sector. The program also prioritizes an integrative approach between science, technology, and Islamic values in the development of biomedical science.
In addition to introducing study program profiles, the audience also provided a productive discussion forum regarding opportunities for inter-university collaboration in education, research, and community service. Various strategic issues, such as developing human resources for health, improving research quality, and the challenges of medical education in the modern era, were also among the topics discussed, garnering attention from participants.
The UM Faculty of Medicine gave a very positive response to the socialization and audience activities. The Dean of the UM Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Moch. Yunus, M.Kes., expressed his appreciation for the visit and initiative of the FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in introducing the Master's Program in Biomedical Sciences. He considered this activity an excellent step in building academic communication and strengthening synergy between universities in facing various challenges in the fields of health and medical education.
In his remarks, he also expressed his hope that this meeting would be the beginning of broader and more sustainable collaboration, including joint research, human resource development, academic experience exchange, and community service activities. He believed that close cooperation between higher education institutions would significantly contribute to improving the quality of education and generating innovations that benefit society.
The participants' enthusiasm was evident in the interactive discussion and question-and-answer session. Various questions related to the lecture mechanism, potential research areas, the admissions process, and the prospects for graduates of the Master of Biomedical Sciences Program received positive responses from those in attendance. The discussion demonstrated the strong interest of the UM Faculty of Medicine academic community in developing advanced studies in the biomedical field.
The Head of the Master's Program in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Medicine, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Dr. drg. Anik Listiyana, M.Biomed., stated that this outreach activity not only aims to introduce the study program but also serves as a strategic step in building sustainable academic synergy and collaboration. According to her, the broader the collaborative network established, the greater the opportunity to generate innovation and scientific development that impacts the advancement of the world of health.

The socialization and audience activities concluded with a group photo session, symbolizing the strong relationship between the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang and the Faculty of Medicine, State University of Malang. The event marked the two institutions' commitment to continuously strengthening cooperation in supporting the advancement of higher education, research, and development of health sciences in Indonesia.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the academic relationship between the two institutions can become closer and produce various collaborative programs that provide benefits for the development of science, improving the quality of education, and advancing health services for the community.
